Date – July 2016

Location - The Devonshire dome

The wedding day by far was the most challenging and the longest day out of all of them fur us, which also included over 200 miles of driving...

We started the day off at Maha’s family home in Derby; the atmosphere was quite chilled whilst Maha and her family slowly got ready. From our first meet we discussed that the large living room would be an ideal place to get ready as well as do set up some of the portraits there since it had some stunning features.

We left Maha and her family whilst they were preparing to head to the venue and stopped by at the Hotel where Salman’s family were hosting their ‘Sera Bandi’. Once we were done capturing the ceremony, we decided to make the most of the greenery surrounding the hotel and got a handful of family and group shots.

Once we arrived at the Dome, some of the guests were already in the hall as it did not have a separate reception area for guests so taking the décor and venue shots were challenging. We prefer to take empty venue shots so that you can appreciate the attention to detail but understand that this isn’t possible every time.

One of the most memorable parts of the event for me was using off camera flash photography during the ruksaathi. This was the first time I tried this but I loved the outcome and hope you do too.
